General Notes to competitors
There is no control test for this level.
The first seven obstacles are the same as those used in beginners level and the dog should be on lead for the whole of this level.

GATE
The handler should complete a wide circle to position himself or herself to close to the gate without letting go of the lead.

RIBBON RAIL
Handler should not pass the obstacle
FIGURE OF EIGHT
Dog and cart wheels must not touch the cones and a complete figure of eight must be made.

RATTLEBOARD
Dog and cart should pass over the board, the wheels should not go over or touch the edge.

CHICANE2 / NARROW SIDE
The dog should return through the right hand side of the chicane, i.e the narrow side.

NOISE
The dog should ignore or be mildly interested in the sound. Dogs that divert from the correct path should be penalised 1 or 2 marks, whilst a dog that is disturbed by the noise should be penalised more. Noisemaker can be for example stones in a tin can, a bell or something similar.

WEAVE
As beginners.

TROT TO FINISH
Controlled trot to the finish line.

EASE OF CONTROL
This gives a large proportion of the marks and can make the difference between places. Tightness of lead, dragging the dog through the obstacle, etc. must all be taken into account.
